Ziel des Projektvorhabens „Forschung und Entwicklung eines MRT-Kontrastmittels auf Basis von Eisenoxid-Nanopartikeln (VSOP)“ ist die Entwicklung und Erprobung von Kontrastmitteln für die Gefäßdiagnostik in der Magnetresonanztomographie (MRT) bei Patienten mit eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion und gleichzeitigen kardiovaskulären Erkrankungen. Bei solchen Patienten sollte die Anwendung von Jod- oder Gadolinium-haltigen Kontrastmitteln möglichst vermieden werden, weil dadurch unerwünschte Wirkungen auftreten und gesundheitliche Schäden verursacht werden können. Die im Projektvorhaben entwickelten Eisenoxid-Nanopartikel werden neben ihrer Wirksamkeit für die Gefäßdiagnostik auf ihre Verträglichkeit überprüft, um sicherzustellen, dass keine Gefahr für die menschliche Gesundheit besteht. Die Ergebnisse des Projektvorhabens sind Bestandteil der vorklinischen Entwicklung, als Voraussetzung und Grundlage für die klinische Weiterentwicklung des Produktes.
Fördermaßnahme „KMU-NetC“
Um neue Marktpotenziale zu erschließen, sind KMU besonders herausgefordert, ihre Prozesse, Produkte und Dienstleistungen und ihre Geschäftsmodelle zu erneuern. Solche Innovationsstärke erreichen KMU vor allem im Verbund, zum Beispiel in Netzwerken und Clustern. In der Fördermaßnahme „KMU-NetC“ werden anspruchsvolle Forschungs-, Entwicklungs- und Innovationsverbünde im Rahmen von Netzwerken und Clustern mit maßgeblicher Beteiligung kleiner und mittlerer Unternehmen (KMU) gefördert. Die Kooperationen sind an den Bedarfen der KMU und den Innovationsstrategien oder Technologie-Roadmaps der Netzwerke und Cluster ausgerichtet. „KMU-NetC“ ist Teil des Konzepts „Vorfahrt für den Mittelstand – Das Zehn-Punkte-Programm des BMBF für mehr Innovation in KMU“. Mit diesem in die „neue Hightech-Strategie der Bundesregierung – Innovationen für Deutschland“ eingebetteten Konzept fördert das BMBF neue Ideen, neue Anwendungsmöglichkeiten sowie neue Geschäftsmodelle und setzt sich für eine weite Verbreitung und Nutzung von Forschungsergebnissen und Modelllösungen unter den KMU ein.

Das Projektvorhaben wird vom Cluster Gesundheitswirtschaft Berlin-Brandenburg in sein übergreifendes Gesundheitsnetzwerk eingebunden. An der Schnittstelle zu Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Kliniken bringt das Clustermanagement HealthCapital die Vernetzung und den Technologietransfer in der Region voran und unterstützt nationale sowie internationale Unternehmen auf dem Gebiet der Biotechnologie und Medizintechnik.
Das Projektvorhaben wird vom Cluster Gesundheitswirtschaft Berlin-Brandenburg in sein übergreifendes Gesundheitsnetzwerk eingebunden. The objective of the project "Research and development of a MRI contrast agent based on iron oxide nanoparticles (VSOP)" is the development and testing of contrast agents for vascular diagnostics in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with reduced renal function and simultaneous cardiovascular diseases. In such patients, the use of contrast media containing iodine or gadolinium should be avoided as far as possible, as this can cause undesirable effects and health damage. The iron oxide nanoparticles developed in the project will be tested for their tolerability, in addition to their efficacy for vascular diagnostics, in order to ensure that there is no risk to human health.
